Find the embroidery designs you already own
You know you bought it. You can picture it. You just cannot find it — not in new downloads, not in designs 2, not on the memory stick in the drawer. So you buy it again, or you pick something else, and the afternoon you set aside for stitching goes on hunting instead.
That is the problem Unzip2Stitch was built to solve. Not a fancier way to make designs. A way to see what you already have.
Everything you own, with a picture of it
Unzip2Stitch looks at the designs on your computer and gives you one tidy place to see them all — every design and every alphabet, each one shown as a card with a picture, its name, and the hoop sizes it fits.
Your files are never moved. Every folder stays exactly where you put it. Nothing is renamed, nothing is shuffled about. You simply get a window where you can finally see what you own.
Want your Anita Goodesign quilt blocks? Type a word in the big search box — it asks “what are we stitching today?” — and press Find it. Or tap one of the ready-made suggestions: Christmas, Halloween, Appliqué, Monogram, Baby, Floral.
The ones still sitting in zip folders
Be honest — how many downloads are still in the zip folder they arrived in, never opened, because opening them is a job and you were going to get to it?
Unzip2Stitch sees inside them. Those designs appear in your library like everything else, with their picture, ready to use. You do not unzip a single thing.
Your alphabets, previewed properly
The Fonts tab shows every embroidery alphabet you own, and here is the part people love: each one is shown stitched out, as “Sample 123”, so you can see what it really looks like instead of guessing from a name. The card tells you which letters and numbers it has, the sizes it was made for, and whether it came with bonus decorative letters.
Then make it yours
When you want to change something, the Creator opens with the pink ✦ button:
- Add a name to a design you bought — one hooping instead of two
- Put two designs together into one file
- Make a monogram, with the last initial large in the middle
- Match your threads to real brands, so what is on screen is what is on the shelf
- Check it fits your hoop before you stitch a thing — anything outside the outline will not sew
- Tame the pile on towels and fleece so the stitches sit on top instead of sinking in
You will not need a class
The brief I set myself was that an eight-year-old should be able to use it. Big buttons, plain words, nothing hidden three menus deep. If you need a lesson to do the ordinary thing, I have built it wrong.
Most days you will live in the Library: search, click, stitch. The rest is there when you want it.
And keep it safe
Your designs cost real money over the years. Files & Backups makes a safe copy of the whole collection and puts it back if you ever need it — a new computer, or the day you would rather not think about. Tidy up finds duplicate copies and tells you how many it found before touching anything.
What it costs
$179, once. No monthly fee, nothing to renew, nothing switched off if you stop paying. It runs on a Mac or a Windows computer — a real program for each, not a workaround.
It is in early access, which means it is stable and does everything on this page, and I am still adding to it. You pay $179 instead of $249 and you keep the updates that follow.

You are not buying from a stranger
I am Lorna. For eight years I have answered embroidery questions every day in Embroidery for Beginners, my Facebook group of more than 50,000 members. Unzip2Stitch was built out of what I watched people there struggle with.
My name is on the digitizing, on the software and on that group. If something goes wrong, you know exactly where to find me — and so do fifty thousand other embroiderers.
