You found a great patch design — a border, a shape, a blank banner — and now you want to drop a name or a word right in the middle of it. Here’s how to add your own embroidery fonts to a purchased patch design in Unzip2Stitch, step by step.
What you’ll need
- Your purchased patch design (the blank patch or shape).
- The embroidery fonts you own — the ones already in your Unzip2Stitch library, ready to type with.
Step by step
- Open the patch in the Creator. Open your patch design on the artboard in Unzip2Stitch’s Creator.
- Add your text. Click Add text, choose one of the fonts you own, and type the name or word.
- Shape it to the patch. Use Curve — Bridge to arch it across the top, Valley to curve it along the bottom — plus Letter spacing and Weight so it sits just right.
- Center and size it. Line the text up inside the patch, then run Check letter sizes so nothing ends up too small to stitch cleanly.
- Set your colors. In the Threads panel, pick your thread colors and use Match to thread brand so you know exactly which spools to grab. Group font colors keeps it to one thread change instead of twenty.
- Save and send to your machine. Save it to your library, then export it in your machine’s format (DST, PES and more). Print a production sheet so you’ve got the color order right next to your machine.
That’s it — a personalized patch, from a design you already owned, using fonts you already have.
